Job summary

ContiTech Halstead Facility seeks a Mechanical Engineering student for a year‑round Product Development Co‑op. You will assist design, testing, and validation of rubber belting products used in agricultural applications, gaining hands‑on experience in calendering, extrusion, and curing in a real‑world manufacturing environment.

Collaborate with engineers and cross‑functional teams to improve belt designs, document findings, and present results to leadership.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with at least sophomore standing and GPA 2.8 or higher.
• Proficient with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills; able to collaborate in teams.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design and development of rubber belting products and components.
• Support product testing and validation (tensile, adhesion, wear, durability).
• Collect, analyze, and report test data and product performance results.
• Create and update CAD models, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Participate in prototype development and trials within manufacturing.
• Help with root cause analysis of product failures or quality issues.
