Primary Function

To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, responsible citizens.

Responsibilities
  1. Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals.
  2. Prepare and carry out plans for instruction which meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
  3. Employ appropriate instructional methods and materials.
  4. Utilize available computer technology in instructional settings.
  5. Evaluate and follow up on student progress on a regular basis.
  6. Emphasize competency in the basic skills.
  7. Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
  8. Establish a positive climate for learning by encouraging all students to do well and develop responsibility for learning.
  9. Consult with colleagues, students, and parents to improve student learning, seek assistance of school specialists for students with special learning needs.
  10. Assist the administration in implementing policies, rules, and regulations covering student life and conduct.
  11. Develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedures and maintain order in the classroom.
  12. Seek to maintain and improve professional competence.
  13. Perform other related tasks as assigned by the principal.

Additional Details

Reports To: Principal/Director or designee

Terms of Employment: 5-week summer session, July 7 - August 8, 2025. Days and hours vary; up to 12 hours instruction, up to 3 hours prep. Multiple positions available.

Salary: $40/hour for instruction, $35/hour for planning, per NLEA contract.
