Job summary

The Options Clearing Corporation (OCC) in Chicago offers a Year-Round Internship in Cyber Defense. This 12-month program runs January through December, with interns working up to 20 hours per week during the school year and up to 40 hours in summer.

Hybrid work is in effect; anchor days are Tuesday and Wednesday, with possible remote days, primarily from the state of residence. Overtime is not permitted.

Qualifications

• Rising senior or second-year graduate student, graduating December 2027 or May/August 2028.
• Majors: Computer Science, Cyber Security preferred.
• Knowledge in programming, automation, AI, and software development useful.

Responsibilities

• Review current workflow to identify opportunities for improvement or automation.
• Assist in monitoring and analysis activities within Cyber Defense.
• Help with security tool integrations and related tasks.

Hybrid Work Program

OCC operates under a Hybrid Work Program which, absent an approved exception, requires employees to work from an OCC office at least 3 days per week. To maximize in-person collaboration, Tuesday and Wednesday are considered anchor days, and all employees are expected to work in the office both days. Employees meeting performance expectations are generally permitted to select 2 other days per week to work remotely if desired. When working remotely, employees are generally expected to work from the state in which they reside, absent an exception approved by Human Resources. Additionally, OCC generally does not permit employees to work while traveling internationaly.

About the Team & Role

Cyber Defense supports all security tools, monitoring and analysis, and incident response. The intern will learn and help in all streams of Cyber Defense work.
