Job summary

New London Barn Playhouse in New London, NH seeks an energetic Education Associate to support year-round education programming under the Director of Education and Community Engagement. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Theatre, Theatre Education, Performing Arts, Arts Administration, Education, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in educational theatre, including teaching, directing, facilitating, or supporting theatrical programming for young people.
• Strong administrative and organizational skills, including the ability to manage schedules, coordinate program logistics, maintain records, communicate with families, and balance multiple projects and deadlines.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace, including Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, and Gmail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, teaching artists, production staff, and community partners.
• A proactive, resourceful, and solutions-oriented approach to work, with the ability to anticipate needs, take initiative, and independently manage responsibilities while collaborating with the Director of Education and Community Engagement.
• Ability to balance artistic and educational responsibilities with administrative, producing, and operational duties.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and student-centered learning environment that encourages artistic exploration, collaboration, and growth.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required for rehearsals, performances, and seasonal programming.
• Submission of two professional references as part of the application process.

Responsibilities

• Support school-year productions, classes, workshops, and school residencies.
• Coordinate and support student registration, auditions, family communications, and program logistics.
• Assist with the development and distribution of marketing materials in collaboration with the Marketing Department.
• Coordinate room preparation, project changeovers, and the setup and strike of Fleming Center events.
• Support the day-to-day organization and administration of school-year programming.
• Assist with the development and leadership of the Junior Intern Program during the summer season.
• Lead or assist with classes, workshops, residencies, and other educational programming as needed.
