Job summary

Chicago Youth Centers (CYC) is seeking an Assistant Teacher at our Centro Nuestro Center in Chicago, IL. The role supports learning across physical, social-emotional, and intellectual domains and collaborates with teachers to promote parent involvement.

Position is full-time, exempt, with a schedule of 8:30a–5:00p, Monday through Friday, year-round including summer. Compensation ranges from $37,440 to $53,000 per year, commensurate with credentials and experience.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development, or BA with 30 credit hours in Early Childhood Education.
• 1-2 years of related experience; strong communication skills.
• Computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Assist in creating a learning environment promoting development across physical, social-emotional, and intellectual domains.
• Participate in developmental screenings and maintain growth records.
• Support teachers with weekly lesson plans and daily schedules.
• Conduct home visits to counsel parents and encourage involvement.
• Record keeping and conferences with parents.
