Job summary

Secant Group is seeking a Yarn Prep Operator to set up and run yarn prep equipment, ensuring quality and efficiency in the manufacturing process. The role requires operating various Yarn Prep machines, following SOPs, and recording production data in ERP systems.

The position offers 3rd shift hours (Sunday-Thursday 11:00pm-7:00am) with training on 1st shift. A High School diploma or equivalent and up to 1 year of related experience are expected, along with GMP awareness and strong attention to

Qualifications

  • Must have a High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 0–1 year related experience.
  • Ability to read Quality Manual and SOPs, as well as protocols and other established procedures.
  • Basic understanding of GMP and working within regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with peers and management.

Responsibilities

  • Operates Yarn Prep machinery and sets up equipment.
  • Follows SOPs and WI to operate textile equipment.
  • Inspects product and reports defects to supervisor or quality team.
  • Documents information in production records and ERP systems.
  • Keeps machinery, parts, and surroundings clean and organized.
  • Handles and weighs raw materials and processing tools as needed.

Job description

What We Are Looking For

The Yarn Prep Operator sets up and runs equipment to prepare incoming materials for the manufacturing process. 3rd Shift: Sunday - Thursday 11:00pm-7:00am w/ training on 1st shift

What You Will Do
  • Obtains training and knowledge for operating various types of Yarn Prep machinery.
  • Provides flexibility to run many different process and machines.
  • Follows standard operating procedures and work instructions to set up and operate the textile equipment they are trained to operate.
  • Visually inspects product as it is running on their machine and documents/reports defects onto the production records and/or to their supervisor or quality team member.
  • Performs tasks in accordance with applicable Work Instructions (WI), Visual Inspection Criteria, SOP’s, and internal specifications.
  • Labels and packages product as per internal specifications.
  • Enters information and uses ERP system to report quantities and time spent on jobs.
  • Maintains clean machinery, parts, and surrounding area.
  • Completes all associated paperwork & ERP tasks as required.
  • Handles and weighs raw materials, cones, warps, and applicable textile processing tools as needed to perform their job.
Who You Are
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 0–1-year related experience.
  • Must be able to read/comprehend Quality Manual and Standard Operating Procedures, as well as protocols, and other established procedures.
  • Basic understanding of GMP and working within regulated industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with peers and management.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good eye to hand coordination.
