Job summary

Sherman Lumber, Inc. is seeking a reliable Yard Staff member to join our Mora, MN location. You will help receive, stage, and prepare orders, and safely operate yard equipment in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes accuracy, safety, and the ability to multi-task across tasks while maintaining inventory and communicating with team leadership. Full-time hours are Monday through Friday with an 8-hour shift and competitive hourly pay of $16.00–$24.00.

Qualifications

• Pass pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check.
• Pass skills assessment evaluating detail, basic skills, multi-tasking.
• Forklift driving experience preferred; willing to train the right candidate.
• Driver's License required.

Sherman Lumber is a commercial lumberyard serving internal and external building contractors. Our Yard staff and Drivers are critical in receiving, handling, and preparing materials for building construction. This role is important to keep our day to day operations on track.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Safely operate and maintain Company property and equipment
• Accurately pull, stage and prepare orders
• Stock and maintain hardware, materials
• Communicate with team and leadership

Yard Staff have a high regard for safety, service, and accuracy. Successful candidates enjoy the physical demands of the position, including repeated heavy lifting, are highly self-motivated, detailed, and take initiative to get the job done right in a fast paced environment while managing multiple tasks at once.

REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical and background check
• Ability to pass our skills assessment measuring attention to detail, basic skills, and ability to multi-task
• Forklift driving experience preferred, willing to train the right individual
• Driver’s License

PREFFERED

• Class A or B CDL, or ability to obtain and maintain a CDL
• No more than 3 traffic violations in the past 5 years for insurance purposes
