Founded in 1947, Barrons serves professional builders including remodelers, custom home builders, and outdoor living builders with specialty products such as decking, millwork, and special-order items. Operating two locations that service the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, we are looking for a Yard/Warehouse Rep I.

Position Overview

The Yard/Warehouse Rep I is responsible for receiving, stocking, shipping, ordering, and counting inventory items. This entry-level position involves the safe operation of a forklift to stock lumber and building materials, following established work and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift safely and efficiently.
• Participate in creating a positive work environment.
• Assist in maintaining an organized warehouse, including tasks like trash removal and cleaning.
• Receive and record incoming products and materials.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Stock materials in appropriate locations.
• Assist with inventory control through counting and organizing warehouse materials.
• Operate facility equipment such as bander, power tools, and hand tools as needed.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist management accordingly.
• Participate in training sessions and complete assigned tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience necessary.
• Basic math skills and ability to read orders and complete forms.
• Willingness to learn to read a tape measure.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work constructively with others and recognize potential issues.
• Proficiency with or willingness to learn current technologies, including smartphones and inventory systems.
