Job summary

Jusczak Trucking in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a reliable Yard Truck Operator to move trailers within our yard and assist in loading/unloading areas. You will work closely with dispatch and warehouse teams to maintain safe, efficient yard flow.

Responsibilities include operating yard trucks, backing trailers, inspecting equipment, and ensuring accurate trailer locations. Must have CDL Class A and prior yard jockey/hostler experience; ability to lift 30–50 lbs and work in various weather

Qualifications

• Previous experience as yard jockey, yard hostler, or CDL driver required.
• Ability to safely maneuver trailers in tight spaces.
• Ability to lift 30–50 lbs. as needed.
• CDL Class A required.

• Safely operate yard trucks (hostler/spotter) to move trailers in the yard and in and out of the production facility.
• Back trailers into dock doors with precision and care.
• Inspect yard equipment daily and report maintenance concerns.
• Maintain accurate trailer locations and update yard management systems as needed.
• Communicate with dispatch, mechanics, and warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections in compliance with DOT and company standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free yard and production facility environment.
• Assist with minor equipment adjustments (e.g., straps and dunnage).

Position Summary

We are looking for a reliable and safety-focused Yard Truck Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely moving trailers on our yard, positioning equipment for loading and unloading, and working closely with dispatch and warehouse teams to maintain efficient yard flow.
