Job summary

Penske in Kentucky is seeking full-time Class A yard drivers for local, home daily operations with no-touch freight and drop & hook. You will operate late model Penske trucks in a closed yard with consistent schedule and safety-focused incentives.

The role offers a stable 40-hour week with overtime after 40 hours, a 10-hour shift window, and a benefits package including health, retirement, paid time off, and uniforms. Must maintain DOT compliance and pass background checks.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL required.
• DOT medical card current or ability to obtain.
• 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years or 2 years in the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers in and out of dock as directed by management
• Couple and uncouple trailers
• Chock trailers as they are spotted for loading and unloading
• Complete approximately 50 yard moves per day while maintaining safe and efficient operations

Immediate Opportunities: Full-time Class A Yard Drivers

• $24.88 per hour; average W-2 $51750 annually
• Local, home daily
• No touch freight with drop & hook operations

You will drive:

• Late model, Penske Truck Leasing trucks
• Best-in-class specs designed for comfort and safety
• Equipped with inward and outward facing in-cab cameras helping to ensure safety for all
• Automatic yard trucks pulling 53' trailers

What you will do:

• Move trailers in and out of dock as directed by management
• Couple and uncouple trailers
• Chock trailers as they are spotted for loading and unloading and pulled from doors
• Complete approximately 50 yard moves per day while maintaining safe and efficient operations

Schedule:

• Wednesday-Saturday, 10-hour shifts
• Dispatch: 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• 40 hours per week with overtime after 40 hours
• Three consecutive days off each week

Qualifications:

• Valid Class A CDL required. Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence
• Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required
• 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years required, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the past 5 years
• 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
• Follow all federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
• In order to be compliant with federal law (49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2)), this role requires English language proficiency
• Work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.
• This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.
