Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Transportation Associate to perform trailer moves in the yard, coordinate yard activities, conduct yard audits, and participate in driver training programs. The role supports Amazon’s transportation network by ensuring on-time trailer movements and safe yard operations.

Responsibilities include operating CMVs, adhering to DOT regulations, completing vehicle inspections, and maintaining hours and safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid and active driver’s license.
• High School or equivalent diploma.
• Candidates must be 21 years or older with the ability to understand and adhere to all job requirements and safety guidelines in English.
• Can lift up to 49 pounds, stand and walk during shifts lasting up to 12 hours.
• Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required.
• Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Make safety a priority by adhering to company rules and regulations and enforcing safety measures for all vehicles and yard entrants.
• Perform yard functions and support site operations, internal transportation field teams, and external carriers to ensure timely trailer arrivals and departures.
• Be trained to operate CMVs on non-public roads or in yard to move trailers to/from dock and parking locations.
• Learn DOT regulations and comply with Amazon policies and procedures.
• Complete pre- and post-trip vehicle inspection reports and notify managers of issues.
• Track working hours and breaks per policy and regulations.
• Support the business as needed by training peers or working at nearby sites.
• Drive and load/unload a truck using approved equipment.
