Job summary

Standard Holding Corporation is seeking a Yard Hostler to safely move and spot tractor trailers on the yard and around the warehouse area in Ellenwood, GA. The role requires careful coordination with inbound and outbound teams to prioritize trailer moves and ensure accurate docking and handling.

Responsibilities include operating yard equipment, inspecting trailers, and assisting carriers with yard directions, while maintaining safety, cleanliness, and accurate freight counts throughout shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of related experience or training.
• Safe truck and trailer operating skills required.
• Experience backing 53-foot trailers.
• CDL Class A is preferred; verifiable experience will be considered.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently.

Responsibilities

• Move and spot trailers to support warehouse sorting and processing.
• Communicate with inbound/outbound leads for trailer move prioritization.
• Document and perform trailer moves for inbound and outbound operations.
• Conduct yard checks and operate yard truck safely.
• Drive vehicles around the facility up to 15 mph.
• Ensure seals on trailers and track trailer inspections.
• Assist carriers with yard instructions and directions.
• Maintain grounds cleanliness and report damages.
• Perform varied tasks (floor freight, mixed freight) with accurate counts.
• Other duties as assigned and required.

Education

High School Diploma or GED
