Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Yard Technician in Fontana, CA to keep the facility clean and organized and to maintain and prepare equipment for rental. You will learn about the equipment rental industry, safety practices, and how to support drivers, customers, and team members on a daily basis.

The role offers opportunities for growth into Driver, Mechanic, ProSales, and Sales/Operations Coordinator paths, with a pay range of $20–$22 per hour and full benefits with a strong compensation package.

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Must be able to work indoors and outdoors as required.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload for internal truck drivers, outside haulers and customers.
• Verify delivery tickets and returns for accuracy.
• Clean, maintain, and organize heavy equipment and machinery.
• Review orders and stage equipment for drivers.
• Perform routine checks on rental equipment to ensure safety and operability.
• Maintain a clean and organized yard and work area.
• Answer and resolve customer questions.
• Provide customers with expert advice on equipment selection, operation and maintenance.
• Support all team members.
