Job summary

Tates Rents, Inc. is seeking a yard technician to be the first point of contact for customers. You will greet customers, assist with equipment selection, and ensure a safe, clean yard environment to support a smooth rental experience.

The role emphasizes customer service, attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather. Previous warehouse or outdoor work is a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Create a safe environment for customers and coworkers as a top priority.
• Exceed customer expectations and simplify the rental process.
• Learn about equipment to make informed recommendations; complete monthly online training.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Clean, service, and check fluid levels; perform minor repairs.
• Demonstrate, load and unload equipment; greet customers promptly.
• Resolve customer problems and communicate with staff; keep lot organized.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Work every day to create a safer environment for customers and coworkers by making safety a number one priority. Attend safety training when requested and be aware of all situations, even when it does not directly affect you.
• Exceed customer expectations and make every step of the customer’s rental experience easy and enjoyable.
• Understand and be willing to continually learn about rental equipment in order to recommend the correct equipment and assist customers. Complete monthly online training to advance knowledge of equipment and safety.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Clean, service, and check fluid levels and perform minor repairs on equipment.
• Demonstrate, load and unload equipment
• Greet customers promptly as they arrive at the store, resolve customer problems, fill propane tanks.
• Communicate efficiently about equipment to counter staff and mechanics.
• Keep lot organized and display equipment for professional appearance.
• Perform other duties as requested

• Must have a valid driver’s license (21 years of age or over for driving positions)
• A high school diploma or GED is preferred but not required
