Job summary

Tates Rents is hiring for a yard technician in the Treasure Valley area. You will engage customers, learn rental equipment, and maintain a safe, organized store environment.

The role emphasizes customer service, safety awareness, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather. A valid driver’s license and a high school diploma or GED are considered, with bilingual skills a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create a safer environment for customers and coworkers by prioritizing safety.

• Learn about rental equipment to recommend the correct equipment and assist customers.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Clean, service, and check fluid levels and perform minor repairs on equipment.
• Demonstrate, load and unload equipment.
• Greet customers promptly when they arrive, resolve problems, fill propane tanks.
• Communicate equipment details to counter staff and mechanics.
• Keep the lot organized and display equipment professionally.
• Perform other duties as requested.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Work every day to create a safer environment for customers and coworkers by making safety a number one priority. Attend safety training when requested and be aware of all situations, even when it does not directly affect you.
• Exceed customer expectations and make every step of the customer’s rental experience easy and enjoyable.
• Understand and be willing to continually learn about rental equipment in order to recommend the correct equipment and assist customers. Complete monthly online training to advance knowledge of equipment and safety.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Clean, service, and check fluid levels and perform minor repairs on equipment.
• Demonstrate, load and unload equipment
• Greet customers promptly as they arrive at the store, resolve customer problems, fill propane tanks.
• Communicate efficiently about equipment to counter staff and mechanics.
• Keep lot organized and display equipment for professional appearance.
• Perform other duties as requested
