Job summary

Heller’s Gas, Inc. in Kentucky is seeking a Yard Technician to inspect and fill portable propane tanks and perform maintenance on tanks and equipment.

You will maintain outdoor storage areas, follow federal/state/local laws, and serve as a liaison to customers while educating them on safe operation.

This full-time, outdoors role requires the ability to work on weekdays with potential after-hours as needed; a clean driving record and background check are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Relevant experience preferred.
• Employment is conditional on verification of clean driving record, background check(s), and pre-employment/random drug testing.

• Performs maintenance and upkeep of outdoor tank storage areas
• Understands all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and codes pertaining to the maintenance of tanks and propane equipment
• Acts as liaison between customers and service branches to address questions, concerns, or complaints
• Educates customers on safe and proper operation, maintenance, and safety procedures

Job Overview:

The Yard Technician position is responsible for the following:

• Inspecting and filling portable propane tanks
• Performing maintenance of propane tanks including revalving, repairing, draining, sanding, and painting
• Maintaining outdoor tank storage areas and moving tanks and equipment when necessary

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Inspects and fills portable propane tanks
• Maintains, repairs, and refurbishes propane tanks and equipment
• Performs maintenance and upkeep of outdoor tank storage areas
• Understands all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and codes pertaining to the maintenance of tanks and propane equipment
• Acts as liaison between customers and service branches to address questions, concerns, or complaints
• Educates customers on safe and proper operation, maintenance, and safety procedures

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or GED

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position and regular work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the ability to work outside of or in addition to those hours as needed.

Travel:

Travel expectation outside of service area is approximately 5%
