Herc Rentals in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Yard Technician to keep our yard clean, organized, and ready for drivers and customers. You will learn the equipment rental business, assist with loading, ticket verification, and equipment checks, and grow into roles such as Driver or Mechanic.

The ideal candidate is energetic, safety-minded, and eager to learn, with a valid license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. This is a full-time position with benefits and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and work indoors/outdoors as needed.
• Ability to communicate with customers and enter data into computer systems.
• Ability to read, write and understand English; operate multiple vehicles/equipment.
• Basic knowledge of Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload internal truck drivers, outside haulers and customers.
• Verify delivery tickets and returns for accuracy.
• Clean, maintain and organize heavy equipment and machinery.
• Review orders and stage equipment for drivers.
• Perform routine checks on rental equipment for safety and operation.
• Maintain a clean and organized yard and work area.
• Answer and resolve customer questions; provide expert advice on equipment.
• Support all team members.

What you will do...

• Help to load and unload internal truck drivers, outside haulers and customers

Requirements

• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record
