Job summary

Spear D Construction in Albuquerque is seeking a dependable Yard Tech to support daily yard, equipment, and facilities operations. The Yard Tech also provides great customer service to internal and external customers, operates forklifts, and assists with organizing tools, ensuring safety, cleanliness, and PPE compliance.

Qualifications

• Forklift operation certification required.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of construction equipment or quick learner.

Responsibilities

• Support daily yard, equipment, and facilities operations.
• Operate forklifts and other assigned equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assist with organizing and maintaining construction equipment, tools, materials, and supplies.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard and work environment.
• Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
• Assist with moving, loading, and handling equipment, tools, and materials.
• Identify equipment maintenance needs and communicate concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Coordinate with team members to ensure daily operations run efficiently.
• Prioritize assigned responsibilities and complete tasks accurately and on time.
• Follow company procedures for the proper care, storage, and maintenance of equipment.
• Assist with additional yard and facilities duties as assigned.

Job Description

Spear D Construction is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and organized Yard Tech to support daily yard, equipment, and facilities operations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, has knowledge of construction equipment, and takes pride in maintaining an organized and efficient work environment.Ability to communicate in both English and Spanish is a plus.

The Yard Tech is responsible for providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers, maintaining equipment and tools, and completing assigned tasks accurately and on time. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions, and the ability to safely operate forklifts and other equipment.

• Comprehensive knowledge of the construction industry or the ability to learn quickly.
• Strong customer service skills when assisting both internal and external customers.
• Ability to follow directions, prioritize tasks, and work independently when needed.
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to completing assigned work efficiently.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and around noisy construction equipment.
• Physically demanding role requiring frequent lifting, bending, and standing.
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is provided and required for all tasks.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all company safety policies and equipment operating procedures.
• Complete required forklift and equipment safety training before operating assigned machinery.
• Practice safe lifting and material-handling techniques.
• Properly use required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, or workplace hazards.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas to support safe daily operations.
• Follow established safety procedures when performing equipment maintenance and servicing.
