SRM Concrete (Smyrna Ready Mix) is seeking a Yard Team Member to keep our plant yard clean, safe, and organized. You’ll perform outdoor physical labor, assist with material loading, and support plant operations in a fast-paced environment.

We value teamwork, reliability, and a strong work ethic. The role offers home-daily shifts, overtime after 8 hours, and a comprehensive benefits package; training is provided for motivated individuals eager to learn construction materials and procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather.
• Team-oriented with good communication skills.
• Experience in yard, construction, or landscaping is a plus; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Keep yard and plant areas clean and organized by sweeping and general cleanup.
• Assist loading/unloading construction materials from trucks.
• Support plant operations with manual labor as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks (pressure washing, organizing supplies).
• Monitor inventory levels and report low stock to supervisor.
• Follow all safety procedures and wear PPE at all times.
• Take on additional duties to keep plant running efficiently.

About the Opportunity

At SRM Concrete, we’re looking for a Yard Team Member to help keep our concrete plant clean, safe, and organized. Your Mission & Key Responsibilities

• Keep the yard and plant areas clean and organized by sweeping, shoveling, and performing general clean-up tasks.
• Assist with loading and unloading construction materials from trucks and other vehicles.
• Support plant operations by providing manual labor wherever needed—no two days are the same!
• Help with routine maintenance tasks like pressure washing, organizing supplies, and general upkeep.
• Monitor inventory levels of materials and supplies, and let your supervisor know when we’re running low.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Take on other duties as assigned to help keep the plant running efficiently.

What Sets You Apart

• You have a strong work ethic and enjoy physical labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• You’re comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather.
• You’re a team player with good communication skills.
• Experience as a Yard Team Member, Yard Laborer, Yard Worker, or in construction/landscaping is a plus, but we’re happy to train motivated individuals!
• You have a basic understanding of construction materials and tools, or you’re eager to learn.
• You have reliable transportation to and from the work site.
• You’re willing to follow safety procedures and company protocols.
• You’re ready to complete SRM’s pre-employment screenings.
