Job summary

Fleet Farm is seeking a Yard Team Member to assist customers in the yard and support merchandise presentation in a fast-paced environment. The role involves loading items into customers’ vehicles, maintaining yard organization, and operating a forklift while following safety guidelines.

The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, a forklift certification or the ability to obtain one, and flexibility to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers in the yard and surrounding work areas.
• Ensure merchandise presentation standards are maintained in the yard.
• Maintain backroom locator accuracy within yard area.
• Wrap and store yard merchandise to prevent weather damage.
• Load merchandise into customers’ vehicles following safety guidelines.
• Locate sale and promotional items to replenish stock during hours.
• Transport product within the facility using forklift or material handling equipment.
• Cull lumber per company guidelines and keep placement knowledge current.
• Maintain yard car-side pickup signage and cones.
• Promote Fleet Farm loyalty program and other initiatives.

The Yard Team Member is responsible for greeting and assisting customers throughout the yard, as well as monitoring the receipt and loading of merchandise in the assigned area following company policies and procedures.

Job duties:

• Responsible for ensuring Fleet Farm’s merchandise presentation standards are in place in the yard and surrounding work areas.
• Ensure displayed merchandise in the store is seasonally relevant, properly secured, and well represented.
• Responsible for maintaining backroom locator accuracy within yard area.
• Ensure all yard merchandise is properly wrapped and stored in a way that will prevent it from being weather damaged.
• Effectively load correct merchandise into customers’ vehicles while following all safety guidelines.
• As requested, locate sale and promotional items to replenish stock during operating hours.
• Transport product throughout the facility while safely operating a forklift or other material handling equipment.
• Ensure lumber is being culled per company guidelines.
• Maintain a working knowledge of product placement in the yard to be able to better assist and direct our customers.
• Maintain all car side pickup signage and cones in the yard.
• Positive promotion of Fleet Farm customer loyalty program, credit card, and other company initiatives.

Job Requirements and Education:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays is required.
• Ability to be certified to operate a forklift and other material handling devices.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Warehouse environment can expose temperature fluctuations (hot/cold), noise, dust, and uneven walking surfaces.
