Job description

We're currently seeking a dependable and driven Yard Support Operator to support our production and yard operations at our Brooklyn, Wisconsin plant.

Our Yard Support Operators are vital to the day-to-day success of our business-handling everything from loading materials and maintaining equipment, to supporting production and keeping the yard organized.

In this role, you will operate loaders, skid steers, and forklifts to move and organize sand, stone, and concrete blocks. You'll also be responsible for loading raw materials into dump trucks and material bins, assisting with snow removal and cleaning, and performing basic maintenance tasks such as greasing mechanical parts or washing out trucks. Additional responsibilities include supporting the production of precast blocks and firepits, assembling kits, and helping with loading and staging for customer pickup or delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Operation & Yard Maintenance

  • Operate end- loaders to move, load, and organize sand, stone, and concrete blocks
  • Operate forklifts and skid steers
  • Load dump trucks with raw materials as directed
  • Fill material bins with sand and stone accurately and efficiently
  • Assist with snow removal, yard upkeep, and plant cleaning (interior and exterior)
  • Assist in cleaning and maintenance of all motorized yard and plant equipment
  • Climb silos and bins as needed for inspection or routine maintenance
  • Grease and maintain plant mechanical components as directed by Plant Manager
  • Wash out concrete trucks as assigned
  • Perform general maintenance and light mechanical work in and around the plant
  • Maintain organized, well-stocked bins and bays

Production & Assembly Support

  • Assist in concrete block and firepit production: pour, strip, clean, and stack precast blocks
  • Support firepit kit assembly and staging for delivery or pickup
  • Maintain block forms in clean and functional condition
  • Support drivers in the yard with loading fibers, colored concrete, and materials as needed
  • Operate aggregate heater during cold-weather months (Nov 1 - Apr 1)
  • Follow detailed work procedures with attention to quality and consistency
  • Adhere to all OSHA and company safety standards
  • Report hazards, equipment issues, or injuries immediately
  • Keep work areas clean, safe, and well-maintained

Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license required
  • Forklift/skid steer/ experience required
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical labor
  • Mechanically inclined and willing to learn new skills
  • Flexible schedule and cooperative work ethic
