Job summary

PERI USA is seeking a dedicated Yard Department Supervisor in Fontana, CA to lead daily operations, ensure safety, and meet customer expectations with high efficiency. The role requires a minimum of three years in yard processes, forklift certification, and strong leadership skills.

You will oversee team performance, coach staff, and collaborate across departments to maintain accurate inventory and productive workflows, while adhering to PERI’s standards and policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of experience in yard department processes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; quick to learn new software.
• Forklift certification required.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication.
• Spanish speaking is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understand and execute assigned department tasks and ensure the team follows all processes and safety procedures.
• Ensure safety policies are adhered to by all on company premises and keep work areas clean.
• Lead and motivate the department to achieve yard goals and KPIs daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly.
• Manage the department to meet customer expectations efficiently and timely.
• Lead and motivate employees while maintaining a positive, results-oriented workplace to reach productivity goals.
• Develop the team for professional growth through clear expectations, training, feedback and coaching.
• Participate in interviewing and hiring decisions and provide feedback for hiring.
• Engage in employee-related actions such as performance improvements and terminations.
• Provide feedback and training to ensure safety and development of all employees.
• Participate in complete cycle counts and annual inventory processes.

Job description

What you’ll do in a typical day:

• Understand and execute assigned departments tasks and ensure assigned team is aware of and following all processes and procedures for department and related to safety.
• Ensuring safety policies and procedures are adhered to by all on company premises and assigned work areas are clean.
• Lead and motivate assigned department to achieve daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly yard goals and KPIs.
• Manage the assigned department to ensure overall customer expectations are met in an efficient and timely manner
• Lead and motivate employees while maintaining a positive, results-oriented workplace by striving to achieve productivity goals
• Develop the team for professional growth by setting clear expectations, training, providing feedback and coaching
• Participate in the interviewing and hiring process and provide feedback for hiring decisions
• Participate in employee related actives such as performance improvements and terminations
• Provide feedback and training to assigned team as necessary to ensure the safety and development of all employees.
• Participate in the complete cycle counts and annual inventory taking processes.

What you’ll need to be successful:

• Working knowledge of PERI equipment and a minimum of three years of experience in yard department processes and procedures
• Proficient in Microsoft Office application and computer skills with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to utilizing new technology/software
• Forklift certification required
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Exceptional verbal and written communicator in the English language
• Spanish speaking is a plus
• Leadership Excellence: Proven track record of exceptional leadership demonstrated through communication, coaching/developing, delegation, relationship building, ownership/responsibility, team results, decision making, and emotional intelligence
• Attention to Detail: Thoroughly reviews work for errors, follows instructions, proofreads, and maintains accurate records.
• Company Knowledge: Strong PERI product knowledge and PERI yard experience.
• Team Collaboration: Works constructively with others to reach a common goal, respects ideas, builds trust, and is accountable.
