Job summary

Carter Lumber Company is hiring for a yard associate to support contractors and DIY customers with order selection and loading. You will pull and stage materials for pickup or delivery, maintain yard inventory, and keep the yard organized. Forklift operation is involved and forklift certification training is provided if needed.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is required.
• Friendly personality and a team-oriented approach are essential.
• Familiarity with building materials is helpful but not required.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist contractors and DIY customers with selecting and loading orders.
• Pull and stage materials for pickup or delivery.
• Help maintain yard inventory via cycle counts and keep the yard clean and organized.
• Operate a forklift; training and certification are provided if needed.

Description

You will assist contractors and do-it-yourselfers with the selection and loading of their order, pull and stage materials to be picked up and/or delivered, help maintain the inventory in the Yard by conducting cycle counts, and keep the Yard organized and clean. Equipment used includes a forklift and if youhaven't operated one previously, we will train youand help youattain forklift certification.
