Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking a yard associate in New Castle, PA to help contractors and do-it-yourselfers select and load orders, pull and stage materials for pickup or delivery, and keep the yard organized. You will work outdoors and be part of a safety-conscious team.

Training is provided for forklift operation; you’ll gain hands-on experience, collaborate with colleagues, and have opportunities for growth within Carter Lumber.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is required.
• Friendly personality.
• Familiarity with building materials is helpful.
• Ability to be a team player and to work outside in all conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with the selection and loading of their orders.
• Pull and stage materials for pickup or delivery.
• Help maintain yard inventory with cycle counts.
• Keep the yard organized and clean.
• Operate a forklift; training and certification provided.

Description

You will assist contractors and do-it-yourselfers with the selection and loading of their order, pull and stage materials to be picked up and/or delivered, help maintain the inventory in the Yard by conducting cycle counts, and keep the Yard organized and clean. Equipment used includes a forklift and if you haven’t operated one previously, we will train you and help you attain certification.
