Job summary

Carter Lumber is hiring a Yard Associate in Kentucky to assist contractors and DIY customers with order selection, loading, and loading/unloading of materials. You'll pull and stage materials for pickup or delivery and help maintain an organized yard.

Training for forklift operation is provided to qualified applicants. This full-time role emphasizes teamwork, outdoor work in all conditions, and a strong customer-service focus.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience required.
• Friendly personality.
• Team player with ability to work outdoors in all conditions.
• Familiarity with building materials is helpful.
• Willing to learn forklift operation (training provided).

Responsibilities

• Assist contractors and DIYers with order selection and loading.
• Pull and stage materials for pickup or delivery.
• Maintain yard inventory with cycle counts.
• Keep yard organized and clean; operate forklift as needed (training provided).

Description:

You will assist contractors and do-it-yourselfers with the selection and loading of their order, pull and stage materials to be picked up and/or delivered, help maintain the inventory in the Yard by conducting cycle counts, and keep the Yard organized and clean. Equipment used includes a forklift and if youhaven't operated one previously, we will train youand help youattain certification.
