Job summary

G&C Food Distributors is seeking a Yard Specialist – Nights in Alachua, FL. This role oversees the truck yard, inventories equipment, and helps maintain the fleet of trailers and trucks.

The shift runs Sunday through Wednesday from 2:00pm to 1:00am with a pay range of $19.50–$22.50 hourly. Qualified candidates will be a Certified Motor Vehicle Operator with a high school diploma or GED; forklift or vehicle maintenance experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Certified Motor Vehicle Operator required for yard operations.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience with yard equipment and basic vehicle maintenance is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily yard equipment inventory at the start of each shift.
• Transports equipment to and from maintenance as needed.
• Updates the dispatch board in Operations as needed.
• Cleans trailers before loading product.
• Performs routine maintenance like changing DEF.
• Empty garbage bin near fuel station as needed.
• Performs other functions as directed by Transportation Management.

Job Summary:

The Yard Specialist is a Certified Motor Vehicle Operator who operates primarily out of the truck yard at the G&C Foods facility. The Yard Specialist is responsible for the fleet of trucks and trailers, including placement, inspection, and general maintenance of the equipment.

Essential Functions:

• Performs daily yard equipment inventory at the start of each shift
• Transports equipment to and from maintenance garages as needed
• Updates the dispatch board in Operations as needed
• Cleans trailers internally before loading of product
• Change DEF as needed
• Empty garbage bin near fuel station as needed
• Performs other functions as needed or directed by Transportation Management

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
