Job summary

Carter Lumber in Town of Charlotte, NY is seeking a Yard Associate to assist contractors and DIY customers with order selection, loading, and staging of materials for pickup or delivery.

You will help maintain yard inventory, perform cycle counts, and keep the yard organized and clean. Forklift use is involved and training is provided to earn certification.

This full-time role offers a friendly team, outdoor work in all weather, and opportunities for growth within the company.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience required.
• Friendly personality and willingness to help customers.
• Familiarity with building materials is helpful.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Must be a team player.

Responsibilities

• You will assist contractors and do-it-yourselfers with selection and loading of orders.
• You will pull and stage materials for pickup or delivery.
• You will help maintain yard inventory via cycle counts.
• You will keep the yard organized and clean.
• Forklift operation after training and certification.

Description

You will assist contractors and do-it-yourselfers with the selection and loading of their order, pull and stage materials to be picked up and/or delivered, help maintain the inventory in the Yard by conducting cycle counts, and keep the Yard organized and clean. Equipment used includes a forklift and if youhaven’t operated one previously, we will train youand help youattain certification.
