Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking individuals to join our yard team. You will assist contractors and DIY customers, help load orders, and stage materials for pickup or delivery. The role includes keeping the yard organized, performing cycle counts, and operating a forklift with provided training.

Ideal candidates are team players who can work outdoors in all weather, with basic familiarity with building materials; customer service experience is preferred and growth within the company is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience required or preferred; friendly demeanor expected.
• Must be a team player and able to work outdoors in all conditions.
• Familiarity with building materials is helpful; forklift experience will be taught if needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist contractors and do-it-yourselfers with selection and loading of orders.
• Pull and stage materials for pickup or delivery.
• Maintain inventory and keep the Yard organized and clean; perform cycle counts.

Description

You will assist contractors and do-it-yourselfers with the selection and loading of their order, pull and stage materials to be picked up and/or delivered, help maintain the inventory in the Yard by conducting cycle counts, and keep the Yard organized and clean. Equipment used includes a forklift and if youhaven't operated one previously, we will train youand help youattain certification.
