Job summary

Carter Lumber is seeking a Yard Associate to join our Indiana team. You will assist contractors and DIY customers with selecting and loading orders, pull and stage materials for pickup or delivery, and help maintain yard inventory and cleanliness.

Training for forklift operation is provided if needed. Ideal candidates are comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions, demonstrate a friendly, team-focused attitude, and have some familiarity with building materials.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience required.
• Friendly personality and good communication.
• Ability to be a team player and work with others.
• Comfort working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Familiarity with building materials helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assist contractors and DIYers with order selection and loading.
• Pull and stage materials for pickup or delivery.
• Maintain yard inventory with cycle counts and keep area organized.
• If forklift training needed, provide training and certification support.

Description

You will assist contractors and do-it-yourselfers with the selection and loading of their order, pull and stage materials to be picked up and/or delivered, help maintain the inventory in the Yard by conducting cycle counts, and keep the Yard organized and clean. Equipment used includes a forklift and if youhaven't operated one previously, we will train youand help youattain certification.
