Job summary

MigWay is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Yard Specialist to support yard operations and the maintenance department in a fast-paced facility. You will help organize trailers, trucks, and equipment, and assist with special projects to keep operations efficient and safe.

You will work closely with the Director of Maintenance, perform routine inspections, and help with equipment readiness. The role emphasizes teamwork, independence, and careful attention to detail in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in yard operations or equipment handling preferred.
• Valid driver's license; CDL a plus but not required.
• Ability to operate yard equipment such as forklifts or hostlers (training provided).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently with attention to detail.
• Flexibility to assist with a variety of tasks and projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily yard operations including organizing trailers, trucks, and other equipment.
• Safely move and position equipment as directed using yard jockey or other machinery.
• Support maintenance staff with minor tasks and coordination of equipment readiness.
• Perform routine yard inspections to ensure equipment is properly staged and secured.
• Work on assigned special projects such as facility upgrades, trailer inspections, or inventory management.
• Communicate effectively with the Director of Maintenance to ensure priorities and deadlines are met.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and hazard-free work environment.
• Report any safety hazards, equipment issues, or operational concerns promptly.
