Job summary

Normans is seeking a dedicated yard team member to deliver outstanding customer service, handle loading/unloading, and maintain high standards across the yard and shop floor. The role requires proactive, organized individuals who can communicate well and build strong relationships with customers.

Working hours are Monday–Friday 7am–4pm with occasional Saturdays 7:30am–12pm. Training for forklift operation will be provided, with a supporting benefits package and pension options.

Qualifications

• Acknowledge customers, assess needs and provide efficient service.
• Ask open questions to understand current and future requirements.
• Maintain standards across yard, counter and shop floor.
• Operate machinery safely, offload and load vehicles.
• Support initiatives to increase sales, margin & service.
• Develop knowledge of product lines to meet customer needs.
• Loading and unloading with forklift (training provided).

• Keep yard, counter and shop floor orderly and safe.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a part of our yard team, you will be:

• Acknowledge every customer, ascertain their needs and wow them with quick and efficient service
• Ask open questions to build strong relationships and understand our customers current and future requirements so we can support all their needs
• Maintain excellent standards across the yard, counter and shop floor
• Operate machinery safely and carry out key operational activities such as offloading, picking, packing, restocking and loading vehicles
• Support business initiatives to increase sales, margin & service as required
• Continually develop your knowledge of core and specialist product lines to meet customer needs
• Loading and unloading vehicles both manually and with a forklift (training will be provided)
