Job summary

CMC is hiring in Mesa, AZ for a role focused on street sweeper and water truck operations within our environmental and maintenance program. You will support waste management, equipment maintenance, and environmental inspections while coordinating with the maintenance team.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of mobile equipment experience, basic computer skills, and the ability to obtain required EPA/MCAQD/RCRA certifications. A strong work ethic and safety mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years related experience in mobile equipment operation.
• Steel industry experience is preferred.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain EPA Method 9 Certification and related permits.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain street sweeper and water truck.
• Coordinate maintenance with outside contractor and CMC maintenance.
• Operate skid steer, forklift and other mobile equipment.
• Manage waste container handling, manifests and shipment coordination.
• Support environmental inspections and record keeping (VEE/waste inspections).
• Communicate performance and maintenance issues to facility personnel.
• Provide daily environmental compliance observations under Area Environmental Manager.
• Perform additional tasks as directed by the Area Environmental Manager.

What You'll Do

• Responsible for the proper operations and maintenance of the street sweeper and water truck


• Ability to coordinate maintenance activities with outside contractor and CMC maintenance department


• Ability to operate additional mobile equipment such as skid steer, forklift, etc


• Waste management (container management, manifesting, waste disposal and shipment coordination)


• Support with routine environmental inspections and record keeping not limited to Visual Emissions Evaluations (VEE) and waste inspectionsSupport environmental sampling, sample preparation, and sample shipment management


• Communicate performance and maintenance related issues to facility personnel


• Provide day to day environmental compliance observations for designated facilities under the direction of the Area Environmental Manager


• Perform additional tasks as directed by the Area Environmental Manager

What You'll Need

• 1 – 3 years related experience in mobile equipment operation


• Steel industry experience is preferred


• Basic computer skills


• Ability to obtain and maintain US EPA Method 9 Certification (Visible Emissions Certification), MCAQD Rule 316 basic certification, and RCRA and DOT certification

Your Education

• High School Diploma or GED required
