Job summary

Advatix, Inc. is seeking a Yard Lead for a high-volume LTL cross-dock facility.

The role oversees trailer management, yard organization, trailer security, and hostler coordination to ensure every trailer is accounted for, secured, and positioned for dock operations. You will collaborate with Operations Managers, Logistics Clerks, Shift Leads, Hostlers, and Drivers to maintain accurate trailer inventory, coordinate movements, perform inspections, and support efficient freight flow across 100–130

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years in transportation, logistics, cross-dock, yard operations, or warehouse operations.
• Experience tracking assets, equipment, or trailers.
• Knowledge of yard safety standards and trailer inspection procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accountabilities for all trailers on-site and off-site.
• Track trailer locations, movements, and door assignments.
• Update trailer inventory in tracking systems.
• Coordinate trailer staging to support inbound and outbound freight.
• Conduct yard audits to verify locations and inventory accuracy.
• Investigate missing or misassigned trailers and resolve issues.
• Monitor trailer dwell times and optimize utilization.
• Direct and prioritize hostler trailer moves based on needs.
• Communicate trailer movement requests between dock ops and hostler teams.
• Assist in shift turnover meetings and share critical operational updates.
