Job summary

Paycom is seeking a yard operations assistant to support trailer yard activities in a busy outdoor setting. You will monitor dock schedules, shuttle paperwork to drivers, and ensure trailers are clean and safe for use.

The role requires reading and writing in English, physical stamina to handle up to 50 lbs, and the ability to work nights and weekends when needed. The candidate should be able to communicate clearly via two-way radio, maintain logs, and interact professionally with customer

Qualifications

• Able to work outdoors in all weather, nights and weekends.
• Strong teamwork and customer service.
• Able to climb stairs and ladders.

Responsibilities

• Monitor loading dock schedules and update yard personnel when changes occur.
• Shuttle paperwork between the office and yard drivers.
• Monitor trailer interior temperatures and fuel levels; report discrepancies.
• Inspect trailers for cleanliness and debris; report damage or issues.
• Maintain yard cleanliness and dispose of trash.
• Complete work completion and equipment damage reports as required.
• Perform other yard duties as assigned.
• Maintain professional demeanor with customer representatives at all times.

Job description

Performs a variety of manual and administrative tasks to facilitate yard operations.Monitors loading dock schedules and updates yard personnel when changes occur.Shuttles paperwork between the office and the yard drivers.Monitors interior trailer temperatures and refrigeration unit fuel levels and reports any discrepancies.Inspects trailers for cleanliness, sweeps out any debris left in trailer.Reports any observed trailer damage or broken equipment.Maintains cleanliness of the yard by picking up and disposing of trash.Accurately complete work completion reports and equipment damage reports as required.Such other duties about the trailer yard as may be assigned.Maintain a professional and cooperative demeanor with customer representatives at all times.Must read and write in English. High school diploma or GED preferred.Ability to safely and accurately work under tight time constraintsAbility to communicate clearly and understand instructions received via two-way radio.Strong commitment to team work and customer service.Exerts up to 50 lbs. of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Job involves walking, standing and frequent climbing on and about trailers. Must have ability to safely climb stairs, ladders, and equipment footholds. Works outside in all weather conditions. Must possess ability to work nights and weekends where required
