Job summary

Builders FirstSource, the nation’s leading supplier of building materials and services, is hiring a forklift-certified material handler in Los Angeles. Under general supervision, you will load and unload materials, build loads, and prepare shipments for delivery to customer job sites.

You will move materials within yards and stores using hand trucks, electric dollies, and forklifts, ensuring safe handling and accurate labeling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three months of experience performing similar loading/unloading tasks preferred.
• Forklift certification required.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads materials onto pallets, trucks or customer vehicles and secures with straps to prevent shifting.
• Performs load-building by determining weight, composition, and placement for safe hauling.
• Reads work orders or follows instructions to identify materials to move.
• Conveys materials using hand truck, electric dolly, forklift or other device.
• Attaches tags or labels for correct identification of items.
• Observes safety procedures and participates in safety meetings.
