Job summary

Builders FirstSource is hiring for a yard associate to load and unload materials, prepare loads for delivery, and move items safely within our yard. You will read orders, operate forklifts and hand trucks, and ensure correct labeling and handling of goods.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety standards, participating in safety meetings, and performing additional duties as needed. A high school diploma or GED plus forklift certification is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 3 months related experience preferred.
• Forklift certification required; prior forklift operation experience.
• Ability to read and write to handle work orders and labeling tasks.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload materials from pallets, trucks or customer vehicles and secure loads.
• Build and balance loads based on order and vehicle capacity to ensure safe transport.
• Read work orders and follow instructions to move materials.
• Transport materials between storage and designated areas using hand trucks or forklifts.
• Open containers and prepare items using tools and equipment.
• Attach labels for correct item identification and tracking.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in safety meetings.
