Job summary

Phoenix Fabricators and Erectors, LLC, based in Avon, Indiana, is seeking a Yard Worker to operate commercial equipment, unload and stage materials, and assist with inventory and loading for shipments. This role supports field and shop operations in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• Experience operating forklifts, cranes, or other heavy equipment.
• Ability to lift and move heavy materials up to 50 lbs and work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Practice safe, thorough, and positive work habits.
• Work under Yard Supervisor and yard team members using applied practices.
• Unloading, receiving, and taking inventory of scheduled deliveries
• Stage material production
• Load completed jobs and secure load to trailers, using D.O.T. requirements.
• Use rigging techniques to safely move material.
• Maintain a clean work environment and yard organization.
• Conduct a weekly inventory of yard items and reorder as needed.

Job Purpose

The Yard Workers is responsible for operating commercial and/or industrial equipment to load, unload, store, or transport materials or product.

Description of Essential Duties

• Practice safe, thorough, and positive work habits.
• Work under Yard Supervisor and yard team members using applied practices.
• Unloading, receiving, and taking inventory of scheduled deliveries
• Stage material production
• Load completed jobs and secure load to trailers, using D.O.T. requirements.
• Use rigging techniques to safely move material.
• Must maintain a clean work environment, taking the initiative to pick up and know how our yard should be kept.
• Conduct a weekly inventory of yard items being stocked to ensure correct material levels and which items need to be reordered.
• Maintain an organized work area free from any unnecessary hazards associated with the work being performed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior experience in a yard or construction environment
• Experience operating forklifts, cranes, or other heavy equipment
• Ability to lift, move, and carry heavy materials up to 50 lbs
• Comfortable working outdoors
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive physical tasks for extended periods
