Job description

YARD JOCKEY/SWITCHER DRIVER – Location:Heller Industrial Park

2^nd Shift - Monday – Friday- StartTime 5:00 p.m. – until complete (approximately 8 to 9 hours)

Job Duties:

• Responsible for maintaining a neat and orderly storage lot oriented toward maximizing efficiency in servicing the warehouse needs.
• Operate Yard Truck in a safe manner during shift.
• Drive and operate vehicle under 15 mph in and around the warehouse storage lot/staging area.
• Able to operate an electric pallet jack to load and unload trailer.
• Operate straight truck (26 Foot) to make local deliveries in New Jersey and pickups.
• Be cognizant of the reality that the operation is a low mileage severe duty function requiring particular attention to preventive maintenance checks and services as well as actual scheduled vehicle maintenance.
• Must function and interact on a daily basis with warehouse personnel and comply with warehouse safety requirements.
• Security of valuable commodities and the storage area itself are a major area of concern for the Yard Jockey, occasionally requiring guidance from supervisory personnel regarding disposition.
• Duties and Tasks as assigned by Management.

Must be able to communicate through a 2-way radio system.
