Job summary

PL Developments in Piedmont, SC is seeking a Yard Jockey to load finished goods daily, collaborating with warehouse and production teams. This role requires attention to safety and quality, and the ability to meet daily productivity targets in a fast-paced environment.

You will create LPNs, operate forklifts, and work with handheld scanners to track inventory. A high school diploma or GED and forklift experience are required, with strong teamwork and communication a must.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and follow WIs and SOPs.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate stand-up or sit-down forklift to move materials.
• Stack and organize materials in designated storage areas.
• Create and print LPNs for finished goods.
• Verify work accuracy and report discrepancies to management.
• Coordinate workflow with supervisors and colleagues.
• Report damage or unsafe conditions immediately.
• Follow cGMP guidelines and SOPs/WIs.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and assist as needed.

Job description

PL Developments, also known as PLD, is a leading manufacturer, packager, and distributor of over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical products and consumer healthcare goods

Summary

The Yard Jockey is tasked with loading finished goods daily. This role involves close collaboration with the warehouse and production personnel and entails creating LPNs for finished goods. Working in a fast-paced environment, employees must meet daily productivity targets while upholding safety and quality standards. The role demands physical stamina, attention to detail, and effective teamwork skills.

Work schedule: Monday - Friday 2:00 pm-10:30 pm

Job Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
• Proven experience operating a forklift
• Valid certification to operate a stand-up forklift (specific training on the stand-up model used will be provided)
• Basic math skills for inventory management, such as counting, addition, subtraction, and measurement conversions.
• Proficiency in using a handheld scanner for inventory tracking and material identification
• CDL (Commercial Driver's License) experience needed.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling materials
• Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to always following safety protocols and procedures
• Proficiency in English Language preferred

Position Responsibilities

• Safely operate a stand-up or sit-down forklift to transport materials throughout the facility
• Stack and organize materials in designated storage areas according to company procedures
• Operate a handheld according to WIs to perform WIP completions and create/print LPNS
• Verify that work is accurate and complete and report any discrepancies with your assigned tasks to management as needed
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to coordinate workflow and address any issues
• Report damage of product, damage of forklifts, or any unsafe condition to management immediately
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
• Follow all cGMP guidelines and all SOPs/Wis
• Verify safety inspection sheet and/or iWarehouse checklist have been completed before operating a forklift
• Operate a forklift in a safe and efficient manner to retrieve or store material
• Keep the work area clean, orderly, and ready for inspection.
• Other duties as assigned by Lead Floor Material Handler or Supervisor

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk and/or sit for extended periods of time
• Ability to perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and bending
• Must be able to bend, reach, twist, grasp items, lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs.
• Anything above 50 lbs. requires secondary assistance.
