Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Middletown, PA is seeking a Class A CDL Truck Driver for local home-daily routes. The role offers weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, paid training, and a driving career you can feel good about.

Typical schedule is Monday–Friday with a 3:30 PM start. Local deliveries with a Day Cab and Dry Van 53’ trailers; no-touch freight, with 40 hours guaranteed per week. Health, PTO from day 1, uniforms, boot allowance, and a 401(k) match are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Must have Class A CDL with endorsements.
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years; 2 years within the last 5 years; 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Pass Ryder drug test and background check; DOT physical; road test.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safely handling and maneuvering tractor trailers on the yard and on public roads.
• Compliance with safety and DOT regulations; ongoing training and customer service.
• Maintain accurate records and logs; maintain move and yard inventory; other tasks as assigned.

• Sign on Bonus: $2000.00 1/2 at 30 days 1/2 at 90 days
• Loyalty Bonus: $1200.00 1/2 at six months 1/2 at one year

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

• This position is primarily responsible for safely handling and maneuvering tractor trailers on the yard and within an area on public roads
• The position requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service

Additional Responsibilities include but not limited to

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records and logs
• Maintaining accurate move and yard inventory records Other tasks as assigned
