Job description

TSI Trucking LLC in Jeffersonville, Indiana has immediate openings for an experienced CDLA Yard Jockey/Dock Associate. Please read the full description of the position.

Responsibilities:

1. Properly load and unload freight using primarily a forklift; the use of a pallet jack, hand truck, or by hand may be required but not often.
2. Strap, brace, and pad freight to prevent damage or shifting if applicable.
3. Responsible for accurately recording the condition of freight as it arrives at the terminal.
4. Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspection of dock equipment.
5. Regular attendance is required.
6. Ability to back 53-foot trailers in the dock door and move around the yard, as well as pick up trailers and bring them to the yard.

Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or General Educational Degree (GED), or any combination of education and experience that would provide an equivalent background.
2. 18+ years of age.
3. Experience in transportation preferred.
4. Prior operation of a forklift or previous forklift certification preferred.
5. Must be able to push or pull a loaded pallet jack and/or hand truck with a minimum load of 70 lbs.
6. Physical activities include: standing, walking, lifting, twisting, turning, etc.
7. Must be able to move trailers in and out of dock doors by utilizing a manual transmission single axle trailers.
8. Must have the ability to work all shifts; must be dependable.
9. Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures, and Code of Conduct.
10. Must be able to interact well with others and work independently.
11. Must be capable of working under tight time constraints with multiple priorities.
12. Responds well to questions; ability to read, interpret, and comply with written information and documents.
13. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, random drug and/or alcohol tests, and will be subject to a criminal history background check.
14. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
15. Must have CDLA for two or more years.

Compensation:

Compensation based on experience. Salary: $25-26 per hour for CDLA. PAID WEEKLY!!

Schedule:

Day shift, Monday to Friday.

Work Location: In person, Jeffersonville, IN 47130. Ability to commute/relocate required.

Experience: Warehouse experience: 2 years (Preferred).
