Job summary

Agile Cold Storage is seeking a Yard Jockey for the 1st shift in Claymont, DE. You will move trailers and containers within the yard and position them for loading and unloading to support efficient yard operations.

The role requires attention to detail and safety, with at least 1 year operating yard equipment. CDL Class A is preferred but not required. 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM; 40 hours/week with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class A license is preferred but not required.
• At least 1 year of experience operating a yard tractor or similar equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to communicate effectively with Operations and Customer Service to ensure containers are moved to the correct locations.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers and containers within the yard using a yard tractor or similar equipment.
• Ensure trailers and containers are properly positioned for loading and unloading.
• Maintain accurate records of trailer movements.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.

About the Role:

As a Yard Jockey for Agile Cold Storage, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our facility's yard. You will be responsible for moving trailers and containers within the yard, ensuring they are properly positioned for loading and unloading. Your attention to detail and safety will be critical in preventing accidents and delays. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of trailer movements and ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures. This position is for 1st shift; 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid CDL Class A license is preferred but not required
• At least 1 year of experience operating a yard tractor or similar equipment
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

• Experience in a transportation or warehousing environment
• Familiarity with log keeping
