Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Yard Jockey to move trailers to the correct locations within our distribution network. You will handle full or empty trailers, assist with loading and unloading as needed, and ensure accurate trailer movements under supervision.

The role requires basic math, communication, and organizational skills, with preference for experience in an automated retail distribution center or logistics environment. A valid state driver's license is required; CDL is preferred.

Job Responsibility

• Transports trailers, full or empty, to or from, receiving or shipping, as directed by the trailer locator.
• Applies seals to loaded trailers.
• Completes trailer movement log to submit to trailer locator/verifier.
• Completes daily yard reports.
• Meets and maintains safety, quality and productivity standards.

Working Conditions

• Lifting of up to 75 pounds.
• Continuous walking, standing, and sitting; walking long distances.
• Exposure to hot and cold conditions.
• Exposure to dust and noise.
• Bending, stooping, squatting, and kneeling on a repetitious basis.

Education/Experience

• Experience in automated retail distribution center is preferred.
• Experience in logistics environment preferred.

License/Certification Required

• Valid state driver’s license required; commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred.
