Job summary

DSV - Global transport and logistics in Richardson, TX seeks a Yard Driver (P.M. Shift) to move trailers and coordinate dock activity. You will inspect equipment, secure loads, and work with dispatch and warehouse teams to keep yard operations running smoothly.

The role requires a high school diploma, Class A license, and experience with yard tractors or similar equipment. Expect night shifts, weekends, and holidays, with benefits including medical/dental/vision, 401K match, PTO, and more.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience as yard driver or related roles preferred.
• Experience operating yard tractors or similar equipment preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain yard certification and safety training.
• Class A license required.
• Flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers, containers, and equipment within the yard.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report defects.
• Ensure trailers are secured, chocked, sealed and docked per safety.
• Coordinate with dispatch and warehouse to prioritize moves.
• Maintain yard location tracking using YMS, tablets or logs.
• Verify trailer numbers, seals, and load documents before movement.
• Assist in yard organization and staging.
• Monitor yard conditions and report hazards or issues.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of equipment.
• Comply with OSHA and company safety policies.
• Support shipping/receiving during peak periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
