Job summary

RSS Mobile Trailer Repair in Cedar Falls, IA is seeking a Professional Yard Driver to safely move and back 53' semi trailers at a major distribution center.

Starting pay is $21 per hour with increases after 90 days and after one year based on performance. Shifts: Sat-Sun-Mon 6A-6P and Tue-Fri 4P-2A. Includes full-time benefits: medical/dental/vision, life, 401(k).

Qualifications

• Experience driving and backing a 53' semi trailer.
• Previous Yard Driving experience preferred.
• Ability to back into tight spots.
• Safely operate yard equipment and stay calm under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Safely move and back semi trailers at a distribution center.
• Back into dock doors and park onsite.

About The Job

A Professional Yard Driver (Yard Dog/Yard Hostler) is responsible for safely moving and backing semi trailers at a major distribution center.

Applicants

must have experience driving and backing a 53' semi trailers. The ideal candidate will have previous Yard Driving experience and be able to back into tight spots. A strong candidate should also be good with time management, have an eye for detail, have the ability to remain calm under pressure, be physically fit and have a safety mindset.

Job Details

• Full time work.
• $21/ hour starting pay.
• Pay increase after 90 days and 1 year of employment (Based on performance/attendance.)
• No CDL A required but must have 53' trailer experience.

Shifts Available

• Saturday, Sunday, Monday/6A-6P
• Tuesday-Friday/4P-2A

Skills Required

• Primary tasks include safely maneuvering 53' semi trailers: Backing and pulling trailers to/from dock doors and parking them onsite.
• Safely enter/exit switcher truck multiple times an hour.
• Place and remove wheel chocks and Salvo locks. Lift and open doors.
• No loading/unloading merchandise.
• Follow safety procedures.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
• Must have experience pulling/backing 53' semi trailers.
