Job summary

Medline Industries, LP is seeking a yard driver to operate a yard tractor and shuttle trailers in a busy distribution environment. The role requires lifting up to 55 pounds, adhering to Federal and State motor vehicle regulations, and maintaining safety and cleanliness of the vehicle and driver appearance.

You will perform daily inspections, manage yard inventory, set up the shipping area for load-out, and back up trailers with precision.

Qualifications

• Must meet all Federal and State requirements for CMV operation.
• Licensed to operate the assigned vehicle.
• Able to lift up to 55 pounds throughout the workday.
• Clean driving record with no serious violations.
• Able to work 8 hours daily, 5 days a week with possible overtime.

Responsibilities

• Operate a yard tractor to shuttle trailers and containers in designated areas.
• Maintain a log in accordance with Federal and State regulations and company needs.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and ensure safety features function properly.
• Refuel as needed and keep the yard organized.
• Complete daily yard inventory and stage trailers for load-out.
• Place packing lists and seals on trailers as assigned by shipping coordinator.

Job SummaryMedTrans is Medline's private fleet of professional drivers that delivers lifesaving medical products directly to both commercial and residential customers. The fleet consists of newer road and yard trucks that feature newer equipment. We manage a network of over 50 distribution centers nationally and provide 1-day shipping to 95% of the United States.Job DescriptionMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Operate a yard tractor to shuttle trailers and containers as directed in a company designated area with tight quarters and uneven surfaces.Maintain a log in accordance with Federal and State regulations and company needsResponsible for daily inspections of vehicleEnsure proper functions of all safety related features of the vehicle and any other equipment connected to it while operating during the dayRefuel as neededClear communication skills for phone or radio transmissionComplete daily yard inventory of trailers and ensure yard is kept organized.Set up the shipping department with empty trailers for load out and remove loaded trailers and stage in the yard drop area.Place packing list and seals on trailers as assigned by shipping coordinator.MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:Education:NoneCertification / Licensure:NoneWork Experience:Minimum 1-year tractor-trailer/ commercial driving experience requiredKnowledge / Skills / Abilities:Must be licensed to operate the assigned vehicleMust be able to meet all Federal and State requirements for the operation of commercial motor vehiclesMust have a clean driving record with no serious violationsMust be able to lift up to 55 pounds of weight throughout the workday; Ability to work in warehouse and outdoor environment which includes heat, cold, rain, snow, noise and dust. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.Our benefit package includes health insurance, life and disability, 401(k) contributions, paid time off, etc., for employees working 30 or more hours per week on average.
