Job summary

McLane Global in Houston, Texas is seeking a Yard Driver/Forklift Operator to manage the movement of trailers and containers. Responsibilities include staging containers, moving trailers, and operating forklifts safely and efficiently.

We are currently looking for looking for a Yard Driver/Forklift Operator to join our team.

The Yard Driver helps the company organize, move, and transfer trailers and containers between all Houston locations.

• Stage containers in doors throughout the day
• Move trailers between locations when needed
• Give up to date information of all containers and trailers in the yard at designated times
• Tell inbound/outbound drivers where to park in the yard while they wait for a door

Forklift Operator transports pallets from the warehouse dock onto the trailer/container as directed by the paperwork assigned while confirming moves with an RF scanner.

• Ability to work in a fast paced, physically demanding environment.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English (to read pick lists, scanners, signage, company website information related to benefits, updates, complete paperwork and follow verbal instructions)
• Ability to work independently or within a team environment.
• Must adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
• Ability to detect warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the startup, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
• Performs functions of Loader, Unloader, Full Pallet Pick, Case Pick, Putaways etc.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum experience of 5 years CDL driving
• CDL A, valid driver's license with a clean record,
• Ability to work with specialized mechanical and basic hand tools.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
• Ability to pass background check, drug screen
