Job summary

DSV is hiring a Yard Driver (P.M. Shift) in Richardson, TX. The role involves moving trailers and equipment, performing safety inspections, and coordinating with dispatch and warehouse staff to keep yard operations flowing. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Previous yard driver/hostler/shuttler/warehouse/transportation experience preferred.
• Experience operating yard tractors/terminal tractors preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain yard certification and safety training.
• Class A license is required.
• Basic understanding of trailer types, coupling/uncoupling, and dock operations preferred.
• Flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers, containers, and equipment to and from loading docks, staging areas, and parking in the yard.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of yard tractors, trailers, and equipment; report defects.
• Ensure trailers are secured, chocked, sealed, and docked per safety procedures.
• Coordinate with dispatch, warehouse staff, and operations to prioritize moves and dock assignments.
• Maintain yard location tracking using YMS, tablets, or logs.
• Verify trailer numbers, seals, and load documentation before movement.
• Assist in yard organization and staging of trailers.
• Monitor yard conditions and report safety hazards or equipment issues.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of yard equipment.
• Comply with company policies and OSHA safety standards.
• Support shipping/receiving during peak periods.
• Perform other duties as needed.
