Job summary

A-Line is seeking a dependable Yard Driver to support our Waterloo, IA operation. This is primarily a yard-driving role with occasional local runs.

Required: Valid Class A CDL and a safe driving record. You should be comfortable backing and maneuvering trailers in tight spaces and be able to work outdoors in varying weather. Join a team focused on safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Move and position trailers throughout the yard for loading and unloading.
• Drop and hook trailers in various areas of the yard.
• Safely maneuver flatbed and tanker trailers.
• Occasionally perform small local runs as needed.
• Stage trailers and equipment for daily operations.
• Back trailers into designated areas.
• Inspect trailers and prepare them for loading/unloading.
• Coordinate with plant and operations teams to move trailers.
• Follow DOT, company, and safety requirements.
• Keep the yard organized and running efficiently.
• Perform other driving and yard duties as needed.

$21/hour | Full-Time | 1st Shift | Waterloo, IA

A-Line is looking for a dependable Yard Driver to help keep our Waterloo operation moving. This is primarily a yard-driving position, with some small local runs as needed.

What You'll Do

• Move and position trailers throughout the yard for loading and unloading
• Drop and hook trailers in various areas of the yard
• Safely maneuver flatbed and tanker trailers
• Make occasional small local runs as needed
• Stage trailers and equipment for daily operations
• Back trailers into designated areas
• Clean and prepare trailers for loading and unloading
• Perform basic trailer inspections
• Communicate with plant and operations teams to coordinate trailer movement
• Follow all DOT, company, and safety requirements
• Help keep the yard organized and operating efficiently
• Perform other driving and yard duties as needed

What We're Looking For

• Valid Class A CDL required
• Safe driving record
• Previous CDL/commercial driving experience preferred
• Comfortable backing and maneuvering trailers in tight spaces
• Experience with flatbed or tanker trailers is a plus
• Comfortable working around heavy equipment and an industrial environment
• Dependable and safety-minded
• Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Willing to perform hands‑on work, including cleaning trailers
• Good communication and teamwork skills
