Job summary

Prime Inc. is seeking a Yard Driver to maintain organization and production in the Springfield terminal yard. You will spot inbound and outbound trucks, keep the yard free flowing, and coordinate with shop staff to expedite service.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 1–3 years of related experience, and the ability to lift up to 100 lbs. A valid Class A or B CDL with a clean driving record is required.

• Ensure sufficicent equipment is available for truck shops;
• Must have good communication with other associates;
• Provide excellent customer service to Prime driver and shop associates;
• Additional work-related tasks as needed.

Knowledge

Basic knowledge of the trucking/transportation industry preferred.

Experience, Education, and Training

A High School diploma or GED is required; one to three years related experience and/or training preferred.

Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to get in and out of trucks and hook/disconnect trailers multiple times per day. Candidate must be able to lift and carry up to 100lbs and push and pull 50lbs. Steel toed footwear, and safety glasses are required in the shop. Candidate must be able to pass a job specific post-offer physical prior to beginning employment with Prime, Inc.

Both indoor and outdoor working environment with exposure to varying weather conditions.

Licensing/Certification

Must have valid Class A or B CDL with clean driving record.
